When exporting a single account's transactions, add the account name to the CSV file (edited)

Three years ago, when I would export my transactions for my individual credit cards, there was an account name column within the export; now it's removed and hasn't been added back. It's available on the transactions for all accounts, but not for the individual accounts. I would like to have this added back please! Thanks!

I was going to say that the CSV contains whatever columns you have selected to show in the transaction list for that particular account…

BUT…

When I went to include the Account as a column I saw that is says it is already included (and locked, so it can't be hidden), even though it doesn't actually show up in the list and is not included in the CSV.

Possible Workaround: What you can do (even though it is a bit clumsy) is to go to the All Accounts transaction list (where the Account column does show up), filter to show just the account you want, and export a CSV from there. That will include the Account name in the CSV.

Yep, hence why I made this idea post and yeah, I saw that, but that's more work when they can just add it back; I don't even use the all accounts view since I have the individual accounts and it was there when I started using this app.

I agree with this fix. There is something wrong from a design perspective in leaving off the account attribute. Kind of like the blank values they used to leave in the split transaction records. But I don't know how much thought they give to the CSV output. That is, thought to how customers use the CSV output. I will say that the better the Simplifi reports are, including nested CSV export, the less I use the straight transaction CSV download. There are, or were, frequent changes to the CSV download content and organization, such that I kind of gave up on pushing for consistency.
