Why isn't account reconciliation part of Simplifi? This is a basic feature in personal finance software to ensure accounts are correct.
Very nice but Canadian users cannot connect to the bank (ex: TD) so we are entering transactions manually and compare with the bank statement at the end of the month
@Andre Cheply
Canadian users cannot connect to the bank (ex: TD)
I live in the US but I spend quite a bit of time in Canada. I have bank accounts in both countries and I use Simplifi both when I am in the US and when I am in Canada.
I am able to connect to both US and Canadian bank accounts. It doesn't seem to matter which country I am in at the time. (My Canadian accounts are with CIBC, not TD.)
There are multiple choices for TD in the "Add account" window (see below). Do none of these work for you?
While I like how simplified Simplifi is, I do think that account reconciliation is important. This would be a great optional feature.
As a business software, Simplifi Business & Personal should have a reconciliation feature with the ability to print the reconciliation. Every year our CPA asks for a reconciled bank statement for each of our business accounts for the last month of the fiscal year. He needs the statement and the reconciliation. I would really like to see this feature added. Thanks.
Hello - this is a request to add the ability to reconcile accounts with bank and credit card statements. I just moved from Quick Books Pro and I LOVE Quicken Business and Personal as a business owner and gig worker. But the “review" button does not work as a solution as there is no opening and closing balance. Please consider adding the ability to do a true reconciliation to this package.
Hello @Pamyo,
Thank you for coming to the Community to share your feedback! Since there's already an active request for a reconciliation feature, I merged your request into it.
Thank you!
Upvoted. I'm not sure how I stumbled across this request. Maybe because I was looking at CSV download-related posts. In using Simplifi in the past, I would frequently look at bank records and Simplifi data as a sort of reconciliation. I haven't actually balanced a checkbook or any other account in many years. (I watch the IRAs and checking accounts like a hawk.) With text and app alerts, and occasional logins at the account websites, I'm confident I am resolving discrepancies in real time. But… I haven't seen an example of a reconciliation done by software like Simplifi and don't know if I'd make use of it. I don't manually add transactions. That'd be counter to my goals of simplification, and spending only 5 minutes per week on finances 😉
