I only see my cash balance in my acct, rather than existing stocks. I finally gave up and made it manual since I don't do much trading there, but when I do it will be a pain. This works fine for BofA/Merrill.
[EDIT] I started drafting this reply to your post about manually tracked mortgages, but for some reason that post is now about something completely different (even though the URL is still "xxx\xxx\how-do-i-record-principal-payments-on-a-manually-tracked-mortgage"). I will complete the reply if you are still interested in the mortgage issue.
If I understand correctly:
Let me know if that's not right. I want to make sure because usually people also track the payments in the account they are coming from, the way you described (a split payment with principle and interest).
Here's how you can do it…(answer aborted… see EDIT above)
Thanks, not long after I posted the mortgage tracking issue, I sort of figured out a workaround. I edited the splits, got rid of the interest payment and just used a + in front of the dollar amount to indicate a positive value… that started decreasing the mortgage principal balance the way I expected. Although it doesn't track interest payment amounts, I'm fine with getting that from my lender's bank statements, at least for now, until Golden1 download/connectivity starts working again.
