Net Worth chart excludes a manual investment account although all accounts are selected (edited)

I'm not sure if I'm the only one with this issue but my net worth CHART keeps excluding a manually entered investment account, whereas all the other numbers (like the big one on top) do not. In essence, my chart is always that much lower while all the other numbers and summaries and reports show the correct number.

All accounts are included in the settings, so that's not the issue.

Thanks for reaching out! To help clarify your situation, can you share a screenshot of the Net Worth chart showing the exclusion of the manual investment account?

Additionally, Net Worth tracking begins when an account is first added. If the values entered for the account are from before the account was added, this may be causing the issue you are seeing. If you want to import net worth history before that time, you can use our Account Balance History Import tool to fill in data from before the account was added into Quicken Simplifi.

Hello! The chart simply excludes $140,000 that are added manually under "Investments / Other Investments". I just deleted the manual holding and added it again, and the chart still doesn't add it. I tried adding a history of it with manual entries in a csv file but that didn't change anything either.

To be clear, it's JUST the CHART. The numbers all include it. Just the chart is excluding it.

Am I missing something? Some kind of starting balance?

I can see that the chart shows a different amount than the total net worth on a specific day (7/20). You mentioned importing a history of manual entries, which sounds like you may have imported transactions. Since historical transactions don't affect net worth history, you would instead want to import historical account balances. If this is what you've already done, my only other suggestion would be to delete the existing account and create a new one, in case something funky is going on with the account itself. You'd then be able to use the historical balance import to backfill the data for net worth purposes.

That worked, thank you. However, the same problem is happening in a manual real estate account. However, in a real estate account there are no balances, just transactions. So I can't backload historical balances.

I am glad to hear those steps worked! I think we will need more information on this real estate account you mentioned. Is the account currently set as excluded within Net Worth? You can check by selecting "View included accounts" within the 3-dot menu in the top right corner.

I tested adding a manual real estate account myself and can see that my Net Worth updates immediately once I included it.

it updates but not historical. There are other threads here where you point out that historical values will not be shown in the net worth history. It really makes the whole net worth chart worthless because it doesn't backfill the history or my net worth.

You can even create your own CSV file for this account. Just be sure to use the same column structure as our template from the support article.
