August is here! ☀️

What's one thing you hope to do before summer comes to an end?

Whether it's a weekend getaway, trying a new recipe, catching a concert, or simply relaxing outdoors, we'd love to hear!

For me, I'm looking forward to a camping trip this month! 🏕️ I haven't been camping in a few years, so it was an absolute must-do this summer. I'm really excited!

Towards the end of June, we finally got a car that comfortably carries all of us; an old Crown Vic just doesn’t cut it anymore for a family of six. As a result, we were able to take a short family getaway to a local state park in July. For us now in August, it’s really all about the shop. We rebranded our family’s shop last November to focus On on fine teas and beautiful books, and have been trying to make a go of out with the new focus. Christmas season begins in November, but there’s a bunch to do to get ready!

Due to unforeseen circumstances (doesn't it seem that all circumstances are unforeseen?) my wife and I have not spent nearly as much time at our cabin as we had planned to this summer.

We hope to use August to remedy that … But who knows?

@Coach Natalie Yikes, my wife and I used to go camping with an older couple who slept in the back of their SUV. We had a pup tent. We were newly weds. We laugh about how we wouldn't do that now. Of course, we are now old. Interestingly, @Flopbot we camped in a state park. It was rough but had nice hiking trails and a good little beach for swimming. I would rather have a cabin a la @DryHeat over a tent. Hope yours is bigger Natalie.

I am attempting to survive summer. August is often drier and nicer but this August in Alabama augurs to be humid and yucky. I want to make a trip to north Alabama to visit a friend and enjoy my new Hybrid CRV (it's the nicest car I've every owned and I am getting 47 mpg). I've had to learn how to drive it to recharge the battery efficiently. Of course, I won't quite get that much on the highway., probably 40 mpg.

But August will turn to fall, my favorite season!
