How do I get subtotals by sub categories?

Question

I am not able to recreate a report that shows the total for travel, for example, as well as the subtotal for airfare, hotel, dining, etc. I have followed the instructions I found in Google: "Enable Subcategory View: Look for the Group by or Breakdown options inside the filter menu" but I cannot find the "group by" or "breakdown" options.

I'm probably missing something but just an expense report will show you the transactions broken down by category, subcategory and 3rd level category with totals for everything.  You could filter that expense report just to show travel categories.

Now the graph at the top doesn't change though and just show the top categories, if that's what you mean.
