Manual Account not updating after transactions

I have a home improvement loan that does not link to Simplify. It's one of those "Pay no interest for two years" type loans. I added a manual account with the original loan amount. It shows up on my dashboard as an account with a negative balance. So far, so good.
I created a Series with a reminder to pay each month. The transaction shows up after each payment, but the balance on the account never changes. (I don't need to split it because I am only paying the principal).
So far, I have tried:
I unlinked the transactions and created manual transactions but the account did not update with the new amount.
Deleted all the transactions related to the account and recreated them manually. The amount owed on the account did not change.

We can definitely understand how frustrating it would be to not have your manual account balance updated to reflect transactions. There should be an easy fix for this, though! All you have to do is click or hover over the 'Balance as of today' tooltip at the top of the account, and then click "Re-sync balance". Since re-syncing the balance didn't correct the issue, and you already confirmed that the transactions are showing up in the account, I recommend that you contact Quicken Simplifi Support directly by phone or chat for further assistance, as they have tools we can't access in the Community, and they're able to escalate as needed. I just created a manual loan account for $5000. Then I paid $500 as a transfer from my checking account. It went down to $4500.

I created a recurring transaction every week for $500 from this transaction. Then I went to the next payment and selected "Mark as Paid". The Loan account balance dropped to $4000.

Is this pretty much what you are doing? Are the payments coming from a connected bank account? Is it a transfer?

If this is the scenario and the transactions end up showing as a positive amount in your loan account but the loan account won't update its balance, I wonder if you shouldn't try creating a new loan account.

You could then delete the old one. Your transfer transactions should still be in your savings account, and you could then link them to the new account OR

You could create the new account and then go to the transfers in your bank account and change the Transfer to account to your new account.

It's just an idea, and it would certainly be understandable to try Support first as Coach suggests. My idea might be considered trying if you haven't made too many payments yet.

That is exactly what I did! It is a manual account, not connected. I have transferred money from my bank each month since the beginning of April. The transactions showed up in Simplifi but the account balance did not change. I tried recreating the account and assigning the transactions. No dice. Deleted the transactions and created manual transactions. The balance remains the same. It's frustrating but I'll keep trying until I figure it out. I appreciate you taking the time to reproduce my issue!

Would you try making a new manual loan account and putting the transactions in it to see if that makes any difference?

I assume all your other accounts are updating balances just fine. It's just this one account, right?

Anyhow if you could create a new manual loan account and put the same data into it, I'd be interested in seeing if that one will work.

Yes I recreated it several times because when it didn't work, I assumed I had missed a step or done something wrong.

Well, sorry to be no help. It is really weird why this doesn't work for you.

One last thing, could you try going to accounts settings, and changing the account type for your loan account to a credit card account?

I assume your other manual accounts work fine.

Edit: Looking above, I see nothing that says whether you tried signing in and signing out of your account or whether you've tried the mobile app or another browser. I assume you have.

I did sign out and back in but I have not tried the mobile app or a different browser. I am on a MacBook and Safari Browser but I have several others browsers and I do have the mobile app. I will try that.
