@joda2021, thanks for reaching out with this issue!
I'm not finding anything on our end indicating that specific account types with Empower aren't supported or anything along those lines. To clarify, have you ever had these accounts in Quicken Simplifi, or is this your first time connecting to Empower? If the latter, are the accounts enabled for third-party access via Empower?
Here are some other questions you can answer that may help us narrow down any potential culprits:
We look forward to hearing back from you!
What is interesting is that I receive text alerts from Empower that my IRA's have been linked to an outside financial tool - obviously Quicken (Simplifi)
@joda2021, thanks for the information!
Since the IRA accounts are new with Empower, it's possible Empower hasn't enabled them for third-party access. You might consider contacting them to see about that. Otherwise, it's possible that an account not owned by you might not be available to connect via their API (regarding your spouse's IRA account), but I can't confirm or deny that directly.
It sounds like none of these accounts have ever been added in Quicken Simplifi — is that correct? And do you have any other Empower accounts linked in Quicken Simplifi? If so, that could be the cause of the text alert you received.
Let us know!
I have 6 accounts on the same Empower website in total. The 401k account has linked great for awhile. There is an Empower HSA account that Quicken does not see/link, there are 3 Empower IRA's that Quicken does not see/link. The text alerts were specifically for the IRA's that are now part of my already Quicken linked Empower 401k login.
Quicken does find an Empower investment account that I can link - but this is an old account that I no longer use or have money in, so I do not link them.
@joda2021, thank you for that information!
I'd recommend contacting Empower directly to see if the accounts are enabled for third-party access, just to make sure that base is covered. If the issue persists after doing so, I'd next suggest reaching out to our Support team directly for more advanced assistance, as they have the tools needed to provide you with the best path forward and to submit an escalation if needed.
