Transaction Detail is getting a new look on the web! When you add or edit a transaction in Quicken Simplifi or Quicken Business & Personal, Transaction Detail will now open in a drawer on the right side of the screen rather than as a pop-up window.
While building the new Transaction Detail experience, we noticed the previous layout wasn't designed to make the information you use most often easy to find. So, we rebuilt it.
The summary now sits at the top, so you can confirm which transaction you're looking at — how it appeared on your statement and the date it posted — before you change anything. Below that are the fields you edit most: categories and tags. Quick actions like Reviewed, Flag, Split, and Exclude are grouped together instead of scattered. The field order and structure have also been updated to improve keyboard navigation.
The new drawer keeps more of your transaction list visible while you're adding or editing a transaction. We're also exploring ways to let you navigate between transactions directly from the drawer without closing it. More details on that are still to come!
This feature is currently available in Early Access and will be rolled out to additional users in the coming weeks.
We know a layout change to a screen you use constantly can be disruptive, even when it brings improvements. We didn't make this change lightly, and we'd like to hear how it's working for you. Reply in our feedback thread to let us know what's better, what's worse, and what's missing.
A few more improvements are already in the works based on your suggestions.
Thanks, as always, for helping us get this right.
