Web App: Ability to scroll the Transactions page from the Projected Cash Flow section (edited)

This relates to Simplifi on a computer. I've never noticed anything unexpected with mobile. As is, the scrolling seems really un-intuitive. I've noticed this for a few months now. Unfortunatly, it was recently cited as a factor for a user to leave, so I know others are affected too.

Current Scrolling Behavior:

Blue - Scrolls Entire page.
Red - Dosn't scroll anything.
Green - Scrolls just the highlighted section (the register portion down).

This screenshot shows the entrire virticle space available on my laptop's screen up/down.

Currently, it seems odd that the red section doesn't scroll at all. Maybe there's a reason, although I can't think what it would be.

Currently, the green section only scrolls the yellow section with the rest of the page above staying locked in place. Since the yellow section - the transactions register - is just off the screen of the laptop, at first, you don't immediately think that anything is happening.

Ideally, the entire 'above the fold section' (everything above the yellow line) would scroll up/down until the green section reaches the top of the screen. Then, the header section (green) would lock in place and only the yellow section would scroll up/down.

Having four (4) different scroll types/zones on the same screen is just way too confusing.

One thing to clarify is that the green area is specifically for the transaction register, which has its own scrolling behavior, including left-to-right scrolling when there are more columns than can fit on the screen.

As for the red area, there isn't additional information there that needs to be scrolled. When you expand the time range, the information in that section is simply compressed to accommodate the additional data.

That said, I understand your point about having multiple scrolling areas and how the current design can feel unintuitive. If you'd like to see changes made to how these areas scroll, I'd encourage you to create an Idea in the Community. This allows other users to vote and provide feedback, which can help our product team gauge interest in potential improvements.

As for RED, it's just confusing to the users when your cursor has four different scroll behaviors all within one page. It's viewed as a bug/flakiness/weirdness instead of as a planned feature. The RED scroll behavior should go away and be replaced with BLUE when the graph is expanded. For me, it always expanded.

I understand that the GREEN is the transaction register. It should have two different scrolling behaviors. When the user is at the top of the page, it should scroll like the BLUE. When a user scrolls down far enough that the entire transaction register is visable on the page, then it should assume the scrolling behavior of GREEN.

Sorry if that gets confusing with all the color references.

Thank you again for the detailed explanation. I just want to make sure I’m understanding the specific behavior you’d like to see changed.

When you refer to the red/Projected Cash Flow section, are you asking for:

Scrolling to be added specifically within the Projected Cash Flow section, so that section itself can scroll independently, or
Are you saying that when you scroll the entire page, the scrolling stops once you reach the Projected Cash Flow section?

It would also be helpful to know which browser and device you’re using. Once we understand exactly what you’re requesting, we can determine the best way to proceed with the feedback/idea.

Interesting discussion. I end up a lot closing the Cash Flow portion so I can scroll more easily the transaction list, and I am on an iMac with a fairly large screen.

I wish we could close the Cash Flow but keep the Reminders Carousel visible because that is more of interest to me than the Cash Flow.

The transaction list (Register) display is a busy page!

Do you spend a lot of time looking at just one account's transactions? I would say 90% of the time I'm looking at All Accounts so I don't see the cash flow diagram, and maybe 7-8% of the time I look at just one account because I want to see the cash flow projection for it. I find that feature of simplifi very very valuable. I don't usually visit the other place for Cash Flow because it's too annoying to deselect the accounts I don't want to see it for.
