The bank, aggregator, or Simplifi system sometimes create mysteriously misnamed Payees and miscategorize transactions.

Simplifi could help users by adding a global option to replace the incoming Payee field with the 'Appears on your statement as' field. The later field often provides critical context for the transaction.

This has been a problem forever and agree with this request. I think the options of just leaving as the statement name is smarter than whatever logic is currently being used

You can set up rules based upon the appears on your statement as. I've just resorted to setting up a bunch of rules - it does not take that long, and you know exactly what you are going to get each time. I set them up one at a time - as soon as I see something I don't like, I fix it (with a rule) and move on.
