Unable to add Apple Card/Apple Wallet (edited)

I had previously linked my Apple Card to Simplifi and all was well. A few days ago it stopped updating. I reset the connection, didn't work. So I deleted the account and tried to re-add but now Apple Card isn't listed as an available account.

I saw Apple Wallet is, so I tried that. When I press Add Account and choose Apple Wallet, I get the page that says "Connect Apple Wallet" with the 1-3 steps listed, great. Well, when I click continue I get the page that says, "Apple Wallet Connected", but I don't get any prompt letting me choose accounts or anything. It just has a continue button, which when clicked, takes me back to the account list. At the bottom of the page it shows Apple Wallet, but no accounts listed. I tried to click the 3 dots and choose Add a new account, but that doesn't work either. It just goes back to the page that says Apple Wallet Connected.

It's been a while since I set up my Apple Accounts. Did you actually delete your Apple Card account or just disconnect it?

You might want to read this support article and try again. There are a couple of tricks but since you had it connected before, the settings in your phone ought to be correct.

Remember that you must connect to your Apple accounts from the iPhone app and not the web app.

Yeah I've read the article and followed the directions exactly. I deleted my Apple Card account from Simplifi and tried re-adding through Apple Wallet.

Problem remains: When adding the Apple Wallet it skips the screen where I can add my accounts and just goes straight to the screen saying Apple Wallet connected. Since I don't get the option to connect any accounts, no account shows up in the accounts list.

So you have in your Accounts list, Apple Wallet but no accounts under it?

If that is the case, go to iPhone app, Settings: Accounts, and find Apple Wallet. If there are no accounts listed under it, choose the 3 dots and delete the Institution, Apple Wallet.

Now try to re-add the accounts from scratch.

Correct, Apple Wallet shows under accounts, but with no accounts under Apple Wallet (see screenshot).

I have tried installing and deleting Apple Wallet multiple times now with no change in outcome.

The addition of Apple Wallet to Simplifi is not the problem. The problem lies in the app's failure to provide me with the requisite screen that allows selecting which accounts to add during the Apple Wallet integration. It skips over it, and has done the same action each time I add the wallet.

I would love to upload a screen recording showing what is happening for context but the upload service won't allow .mp4.

OK, let's try this. Go to Phone Settings: Apps: Quicken Simplifi: Apple Wallet.

It should say that Account Access: All Available Activity.

If it does, change it to none, back out of Settings, and Reboot the phone and then try again.

Edit: I am just brainstorming and doing what I would try. 😀

Nice work, that did it.

Permissions were set to off, enabled and Apple Card was an option to add.
