Bills Series Dropping Random Reminders

Question

I've noticed that QBP occasionally will drop reminders from recurring bills series.

For example, I created a recurring bill series that corresponds to a monthly checking account debit for health and other insurance benefits that occurs on or about the first of each month.

The series history shows monthly transactions as expected, except for October 1, 2026. The series also continues as expected with the next reminder showing November 1.

I've noticed this also happen on occasion with other series, none of which were consequential enough to investigate.

Since I can't alter the series to specify a past date for the next reminder (to try to recreate the missing October 1 reminder), does a means exist to associate the debit with the series so the historical data, summary amounts and averages reflect the correct figures?

Ok… so sometimes when a transaction fails to link the past due reminder from the series is still there and sometimes it isn't, right?

You asked about whether a means existed to link such a transaction to the past due reminder (if it exists) or to the series (if it doesn't). Earlier, I suggested ways to link transactions in both of those cases. Have you tried those? Did they work for you?

That won't solve the failure to link in the first place, of course, but it would help with the historical data you were worried about.

Both the original issue I cited and the subsequent Orkin example are the same issue.

@Mortimer Duke: Unfortunately, no means exist to link transactions to past, unlinked reminders.

Your previous question was about linking past transactions to an existing series, not to an unlinked reminder.

This seems different, like you are talking about linking a past unlinked transaction to an existing past unlinked reminder.

If that is the case, you can usually click on the 3-dot menu icon on the reminder to see the menu below. The "Link to transaction" option brings up a list of currently unlinked transactions that you can then link to the reminder.

Of course, if I misunderstood and the past reminder doesn't actually exist, you can still try the method I posted earlier to link the past transaction to the series where the reminder should have been located. Did that not work?
