I frequently look through the recent discussions and read the ones that I think might be helpful or where I think I might be able to help.
After that, I would like to mark all the rest of the discussions as "read" so that later I can easily identify the ones that are really new (to me).
Many similar boards (or email systems) have a button to allow you mark all the messages as read. Something like that would be helpful here.
