Partial page printing doesn't work when you are down to one check

Question

I am close to having to reorder checks. I would LIKE to switch from voucher checks (one check per page with 2 vouchers) to standard checks (3 on a page) to save paper and space. However, in my testing, I cannot print a check successfully when there is only one left. My fancy inkjet printer (XP-7100) won't in portrait orientation from the default paper tray when the page (remaining check) is that small. It simply kicks the blank check out, grabs another piece of paper and kicks it out (blank) as well. Is there any sort of workaround or am I stuck using voucher checks? 😒

Oh and there really should be a tag for printing issues or check printing or something.
