For the first time in years, we are not handing out candy. Most of the folks in my neighborhood don't. and normally fewer participate on Saturday than on a weekdays.
It's sad because I enjoyed it so much as a boy, but the world has a lot since then. Many institutions have their own Halloween activities for children, so I guess this is the end of an era for me.
Last year, I neglected to get the candy they liked, and one kid said "yuck" when I handed it out. I got a kick out of that, and that's not the reason for my reluctance to continue the tradition. 😆
I live in a suburban neighborhood in Alabama, and traditions die hard here, so wonder if other places still participate in "trick or treat", or if it is on the wane every place.
