Add a Savings Goal option to reach a target Account Balance (edited)

The current goal functionality creates a virtual sub-account as a goal, and enables tracking of contributions in the spending plan. However, instead of setting aside an amount in the virtual account, I want to set a goal to contribute/transfer an amount to reach a target balance in an account. Example: Account balance is $20K, want to contribute/transfer $500/mo to reach $26k. You can kinda do this now, but I don't need the virtual sub-account, and can't contribute with transfers.

I don't budget or use spending plans on a transactional level. That's not what I need Simplifi for. There are other budgeting tools like regular Quicken for that.

What I would like is to have a savings goal be updated with the current balances of one or more accounts. Then Simplifi can calculate how much growth the account has each month and tell me if I'm on target or not to reach my goal. Simplifi should be an aggregate tool. I don't want to have to mark each transaction with a spending flag tag. I'd much rather the balance and growth of my accounts tell me if I'm on target for a spending goal.

That kind of thing might be called a 'balance goal', it would be kind of silly to say "once i reached balance x i'm not going to save any more". I like things the way they work, but others have had similar opinions to yours. I believe your idea might be merge-able into an existing idea with votes, but I don't know the search terms to find it.
