Need a 'Select All' and 'Date Range' Filter (edited)

Currently, I have to manually expand all months to ensure that I am selecting all visible transactions before downloading a CSV. As the # of months grow that this product has been out, that could be a lot of scrolling and clicking. It would be nice to have a way of selecting "All" and of course more robust such as by date range and combination of tags and categories.

I am importing years of transactions to Simplifi from Personal Capital, and the date filter is my most used filter by far!

It'd be great to have more flexible Category filters. Right now if I want to see everything but a certain category I need to select every category and remove the one I need filtered out.

If this presents a design challenge then one simple way of getting around it would be to have a "Select All" button for Categories / Tags / etc, and the user can do it in a two step approach:

1. Select all categories
2. Remove the selections they're not interested in

The filters are powerful and great, but something is still missing.

I often want to pull a report of all categories EXCEPT for one (for example, all spending MINUS charity).
Currently, I need to manually select every category/payee (and there are many), aside from the excluded one.
Is there an option to add a button on the top to "Select all" when filtering, like almost every other software with a selection panel already has (Excel etc).

A date range filter would be lovely - An example use case is (1) I search for transactions marked 'casino,' (2) I filter by 'this year' or 'prior year' or 'last 12 months' to get a picture of how (bad) I did.

I'd rank having the ability to export all transactions as "essential", and the ability to filter to a date range as "nice to have". The reports in simplifi are ok but limited; having the ability to export transactions to build custom graphs or reports (e.g. in a spreadsheet) would greatly mitigate these limitations.

You can export transactions. Select what you want and click on the export icon

I am so happy with Simplifi, but I believe it is an absolute must to add a date range filter on reporting! And, being a former programmer, this should be an easy modification.

Since Simplifi does not have the function to calculate my account balance from my transactions and check that it matches my bank balance, every time I want to do this, I have to select all and then look at the total of the selected transactions. This wouldn't be so bad, except there is no way to select all transactions in an account, only to select all visible transactions. So every time I want to do this, I have to go in an expand every past year and some past months one at a time by hand so that all transactions are visible before I select all. This is very annoying and time consuming. Please add an "expand all" feature or some other way to make this less painful.

I would like to be able to filter out a small number of categories from my overall report view.

The only way I am aware of to do this is selecting EVERYTHING except those categories.

It'd be so nice to have a way to select all the categories first with one click, so I could just select all categories first and then unselect the ones I want to exclude. Right now it takes a long time to do this process.

I'd really like date filters. I know, I can sort by date, but sometimes I want to view all of (let's say) this month's transaction, sorted by amount, or by payee. This seems to come up a lot when I'm categorizing my amazon purchases.

I'd be able to use Reports for this but Reports don't show the Reviewed column (which I use extensively to confirm that a transaction has been categorized correctly and that no further action is needed).

being able to filter transactions by a date range in the mobile app would be super helpful to ensure the transactions in a credit card statement are all valid. for instance, if my billing cycle is august 3-september 3, being able to see all transactions between those 2 dates would be a game changer.

@Gideunz , see my comment from October 2022 with a workaround that might or might not work in your case.

To their credit, Simplifi is very active in this forum; posting multiple times a day. I’ve been in other forums where the company was obviously not active in the forum and their product and customer service always suffered as a result. Granted, that’s subjective and when your idea/question/need isn’t the one being implemented, it can be crazy frustrating!

Voting on Idea Posts is still the best way to have your say. Simplifi might not always choose to implement ideas in the order we wish - or in the order of most votes - but I have seen multiple Idea Posts implemented. I’m guessing it has to do with their own internal roadmap and the easy-ness-osity to implement/code.
