Can't change from sub-category to parent in spending plan

I've recently encountered this issue where I have a recurring spending plan item of subcategory "Gas & Fuel". However, I'd like to change that to the broader "Auto & Transport". This is the only planned spending item I have in the Auto & Transport parent but I receive this error trying to change it.

I should be able to change the category from a subcategory to the parent as long as there are no other subcategories for the parent in my spending plan.

I know I can delete and re-create as a workaround but this feels like a bug since I'm not actually violating the parent/child constraints.

Thanks for reporting this!

I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it's by design, but I think it's funky too. Especially when I can accomplish a reverse scenario of editing a Monthly Planned Spending expense from the Parent Category to a Subcategory — it just doesn't make sense to me! I did go ahead and get this reported and will let you know as soon as I receive an update.
