Ability To Track Gold and Silver Assets based on current market prices (edited)

As a Simplifi user I want to track the value of the gold that I own by adding an asset of type "Gold" and indicating how many ounces I own. Simplifi will have integration with a 3rd party service that provides the updated spot price of gold. So that when I login and my accounts refresh, Simplifi will multiply the number of ounces of gold I own by the spot price to come up with the estimated value.

Being able to add Gold, Silver, or other metals as an Asset Account and have Simplifi update it's value automatically based on weight and market price.

I think I found a good workaround, which is to add a manual "Other investment" account, and then for the Stock, pick "XAUUSD" which represents the spot price per ounce. Then enter the number of ounces under "Shares" and voila, it will track the value against the market.

The current process to track precious metals is to add them as manual accounts but the challenge with this is either you have to just put in the purchase price and track the gains in another app separately or manually keep updating the precious metals value at a certain frequency. Given the emergence of PMs as a part of people's portfolio and also being recommended by investment advisors (https://www.reuters.com/markets/wealth/morgan-stanley-cio-favors-602020-portfolio-strategy-with-gold-inflation-hedge-2025-09-16/) I think it would be valuable for Quicken to pull daily pricing of PMs like Gold and Silver and show returns.

Its kind of like what you are doing with House prices using Zillow.

Creating a new feature where you can input amount in grams/kilos etc. that you have as an asset in gold, silver or other metals and it matches the market and tracks the total value of those metals that are an important part of your portfolio.
