Liability accounts can no longer be updated
Last month I posted a question about updating these account and was advised to simply add a plus sign in front of the amount. This worked perfectly. Now the same entries are not being reflected. I have two +1000 entries against my mortgage, but the balance hasn't moved since last month. See attached image.

Backdated the transaction to get the update, as recommended in the thread above. Worked for a few hours. Now there seems to be a penny off error.

It sounds like you're experiencing the known issue that you highlighted above:
For the balance issue, since it looks to be a fairly new account, I'd suggest starting over by deleting and re-adding the account and then re-entering the transactions. If you don't see the balance change take effect after entering each transaction, try refreshing the browser page or signing out and back in.
