Categorize manually

Is there any way to have transactions come in "uncategorized" so I can categorize them manually?

Currently, there isn't a way to do that, however, there is an idea requesting that functionality. I'd recommend taking a look at this Idea post and adding your vote if you'd like to see it implemented in the future:

@MJ Ballard Every recurring bill and transaction must have a category. By default it selects "Uncategorized." So it should be pretty straightforward to filter on "Uncategorized" in the transaction list to categorize them manually.

Are you talking about transactions coming from your bank downloads? If so, I do not know a way to tag them as uncategorized by default. However, you can use the reviewed/unreviewed feature to categorize as needed. By default, new transactions come down as not reviewed.

Mark the transactions you have categorized as you want as reviewed. Then, the new ones will come in as unreviewed. After that, you can categorize the new transactions and mark them reviewed.
