Guideline.com asking for authentication code every time the app is opened

Hello all!
This is for other Simplifi users who are getting the constant verification code prompt for guideline popping up when the app is opened or accounts are refreshed while the app is in use
Unfortunately, support does not know anything about this and they told me that nothing can be done to fix it which is untrue. So I wanted to share the solution here.
Here are the necessary steps to fix this issue:
- Login to Guideline.com
- Setup 2-factor auth if you haven’t already
- From the nav menu, go to Account Settings
- Scroll down until you see the ‘Financial app access’ section
- Click View Password
- You’ll see a new unique password with limited access meant to be used for financial apps like Simplifi. It will be different from the password you use to login to Guideline.com. Copy it
- Go to Simplifi, navigate to accounts, find your Guideline account in Simplifi and click the ‘…’ button next to it
- Click ‘Reset Connection’
- Enter the email you use to login to Guideline.com
- In the password field, do NOT enter the password you use to login to Guideline.com. Instead, enter the new unique password that you copied from ‘Account Settings’ on Guideline.com. Connect and you should be set!
- Important: you do not use the new password does not affect your original password. You still need to use your original password to login to Guideline.com’s dashboard
