Using the import balance history csv template- clarification

hi, I am interested in trying to import some balance history using the CVS template, but I'm a bit unsure about getting started. In the directions on the help page (How to Import Account Balance History) it says dates must be formatted as "M/D/YY (i.e., 1/1/22)" but in the template itself it is like "09/08/2023" with more digits. Do I need to correct it in the template from the outset?
