Recurring transfers excluded from spending plan

I created a transfer series called “transfer to savings” that recurs each month. I set up the series so that the “money out” is not excluded from spending plan or reports (box not checked) but the “money in” is excluded. This helps me keep track of how much money is left in my checking account after my transfers.

The problem I am having is that this strategy works fine for the current month, but the next month in the series will always have the “money out” excluded from spending plan. This seems like a bug to me as I specifically edited the entire series to have the “money out” not be excluded.

I have tried deleting and remaking the series but had the same result. The only workaround I have is to manually uncheck the exclusion at the start of each month which sort of defeats the purpose of automating the savings in the first place.

Any suggestions?
