Wells Fargo credit card issue

I'm having the issue where Simplifi won't reconnect my cc account. I've had it connected in previous months and it stopped downloading transactions for several weeks. Attempted to disconnect/reconnect the account, but it would not re-connect that cc account. There's an official thread that says it's a known issue without any ETA to fix it.

That seems like, well, I might have to move to a different service. Do any users know of workarounds or what the issue is?

    To help troubleshoot this issue, please provide more information. What is happening when you try to reconnect your credit card account? Are you seeing any error messages/error codes? If not, then what is preventing you from reconnecting the account?

  • The financial institution will allow me to select it as an account to share the data, but Quicken Simplifi will no longer connect to it. So it now lists it as "disconnected" in the accounts page.

    Please provide more detail exactly what is preventing you from reconnecting the account. From what you've said so far, it sounds like you're able to complete the authorization through Wells Fargo. What happens after that? Are you getting error messages? Is it timing out? Is it not giving you the option to link the account? Is the account not showing in the list? Is something else happening?

    If I knew I'd tell you. It's not timing out. There are no error messages. But after allowing access to Quicken Simplifi through Wells Fargo, the cc account is still listed as "disconnected" (next to the account name), on the settings account page.

    This is apparently a known issue with Wells Fargo since late February or early March. There is an official thread about it but the latest post merely says there's no ETA on a fix. I thought maybe the community had found one so I posted here.

    Ok, I didn't do anything different this time, but I again went through the steps to "reset connection" in the Settings/Accounts page of Simplifi (3 dot menu next to the financial institution name). This time, after signing into Wells Fargo again, all of my selected accounts (including the cc account) successfully reconnected.

    For clarity, last time I went through all those steps, I was left with the cc account still showing "disconnected." So the reconnection failed for some reason. A previous coach had told me through chat that the issue was the thread I linked above. When I tried resetting the connections to Wells Fargo accounts again today, this time it worked. :shrug:
