    do I need to delete the app on my iPad and reinstall to get this update?

    No, there should be a way to update from the App Store. If you don't know where to find it, i don't recall exactly where it was (my iPad is not with me right now), but you can also search "Quicken Simplifi" in the app store, and if it's available there should be an update button there.
