Past dating reoccurring transactions

I have been unable to link my checking accounts to Simplifi due to an issue on my banks end. While they are working to fix this, I have decided to manually enter my past information into the app so I can get a better overview of my finances now. Unfortunately the app does not allow you to add reoccurring transactions with a start date set in the past. I receive a weekly paycheck and in order to catch up the account from the beginning of the year to now I have had to manually enter each paycheck. It's been almost 30 transactions I could have just set to reoccurring when I added the first one and had the app auto-generate the rest. It would be nice to have more options when manually entering an entire account.

    Hello @iamsummermj,

Thank you for coming to the Community to share your feedback! To clarify how recurring transactions work in Quicken Simplifi, they do not automatically generate a transaction in your register. They act as reminders so that you can see anticipated bills/subscriptions and income, and plan accordingly. For more information on recurring transactions, please click here.

It is sort of possible to past date recurring transactions in Quicken Simplifi, but doing so will not generate the automatic transactions that you want. To create a past dated recurring transaction, you will need to locate the transaction from the prior month in your account register, select the three dots at the end of it, and then select Mark as one-time bill. Once done, the Bill will be entered for the prior month.

Perhaps the closest you can get to automatic generation of transactions, if your financial institution allows you to download .CSV files in the proper format, would be importing a .CSV file into Quicken Simplifi. Please review this article on importing transactions for more information.

    I hope this helps!

I think I would go with @Coach Kristina 's last suggestion - download a .csv file from you bank (if they allow it) and follow the instructions in the linked article. You may not be able to download back to January 1 but download as much historical data as you can - 60 to 90 days will go a long way toward getting you up and running. This would also be so much easier than manually entering every single transaction.
