Spending Plan Math Not Adding Up

After following the recently posted steps to connect to Fidelity using Simplifi's new connection method, the "spending plan" for the current month is not adding up. For example, income could be $10K, fixed expenses could be $5K, and income available is somehow -$500.

Also, I have noticed after reconnecting accounts that have scheduled bills/subscriptions, things get kind of wonky after the automated recurring transaction analysis. From either duplicated to canceled schedules, or hidden in reports or spending plans not applying.

    Hello @itsandyking,

Thanks for reaching out! I am sorry you are having trouble with the spending plan. To get a better idea of what your situation looks like, can you provide a screenshot showing the problem in your spending plan? This would help us understand the problem you are dealing with.

    Thanks,

    Coach Jon

    Hello @itsandyking,

Thanks for the reply! Is this issue only occuring on the mobile app? If it is, I would try signing out of the mobile application and back in. If that does not work, you can also try uninstalling/reinstalling. Let us know!

    Thanks,

    Coach Jon

  • It is not only mobile. It is also on the web.

After attempting those steps on mobile, the spending plan appears the same.

  • Even if I hide most transactions that are normally in my spending plan from spending plan calculations, it ends up with weird math. Many of these transactions are now "manual" because of disconnecting from one Fidelity connection and establishing another.

    Hello @itsandyking,

There is definitely something strange happening here. And you noticed this after connecting to a Fidelity account? Nothing before, at all? Have you verified that all the transactions located under the Income and Spending categories in the spending plan add up to the totals there?

    Let us know!

  • I noticed this happening after following the steps located in the "ongoing Fidelity connection issue workaround" where I made the accounts manual, connected using the new method, and relinked the previous accounts to the new connections.

I can verify that the transactions under income and spending do add up to the totals displayed.

    Hello @itsandyking,

Thanks for the information. Can you please supply screenshots showing the transactions adding up to the totals in the Spending Plan categories? You may directly message me in this case. May I also have the web browser, OS, and device specs for the mobile device you are using as well?

Additionally, we will need you to send logs. Instructions to send logs can be found below:

    1. Log into the Quicken Simplifi Web App.
    2.  Select Profile from the left-hand navigation bar.
    3.  With the Profile menu open, hold down the Option key for Mac or the Alt key for Windows, and then click Send Feedback.
    4.  Leave all boxes checked, add a brief description of the issue, and then click Send

    Thanks,

    Coach Jon
