It would be good to see at a glance what percent of expenditures are needs vs wants vs savings following the 50 30 20 rule.  Simplifi would have to provide the ability to define transaction categories as needs or wants—a separate field, higher level grouping.  A category may not fit entirely into one group.  E.g., the Home categories might be defined by the customer as essential or lifestyle.  This spending group would be included in any transaction downloads.  50 30 20 is a well-known budget strategy and the percentages could be tweaked according to the customer’s life stage.

    It would be nice if we could customize how we view our Spending Plan. I'd like to be set up to see certain categories separately, such as using the 50-30-20 rule or something similar.

    We budget based on the classic 50/30/20 rule. It would be nice to categorize the spending plan based on three sections ie: Needs/Wants/Savings or something like that. And then from that categorized view screen, be able to fold each panel into a line instead of only having large panels. This would make the screen more visually appealing and accessible to be able to see the entire budget on one page. Right now I have to scroll up and down to make sure I have entered every budget category and check it off on a separate document to ensure I didn't miss anything and it's just a bit of unnecessary organization that could be fixed internally.
