Charles Schwab Duplicate Transactions

I'm seeing a different issue with Schwab duplicating many non-zero transactions in my register.
I made 4 "Sell" transactions on Feb 26, 2025 (trying to avoid the market crash). But there are 192 transactions in the register related to those sales. Each sale transaction shows up in the register 48 times as of today.
There have been 2 other transactions since then — one in March and one in April. Both are "Interest Earned" transactions and neither has been duplicated.
Is this the same bug that is being looked at in the thread linked below?

Hello @DryHeat,
Thank you for letting us know you're seeing an issue with duplicate transactions. While it's possible that it's related, I haven't seen reports that duplicate transactions are part of the known issue. When you sold the shares, was it a limit order, or a different kind of sell transaction? Did you input the information in your Quicken Simplifi manually before it downloaded from the financial institution?
If you haven't already done so, I'd recommend that you start troubleshooting this issue by following the steps in this article on duplicate transactions:
I look forward to your reply!

(1) These were not limit orders. They were regular Sell transactions.
(2) I did not input anything manually. These were all downloaded from Schwab.
(3) The article you linked asks if "Appears on your [account] statement as..." information is shown at the top of the transaction edit window. It is. All these transactions have that information, all identical.
This is not about a transaction being entered manually and then downloaded, creating a duplicate. Instead, each downloaded transaction is replicated 48 times. Here's a screen shot so you can see how this looks:
Each of these 10 entries is really the same transaction — just repeated 10 times. And there are 38 more lines that look exactly the same, making 48 lines total for the same transaction.
Three other transactions were treated the same way — each appearing 48 times.
I will eventually delete the excess transactions, but I am leaving them there for now so that you or your team can take a look and verify the issue.
If this is not related to the "$0 transaction" problem could you split this off and make it into a separate bug report? Thanks…

Thank you for providing that additional information,
To help us investigate further, please send logs. You can do that by following these steps:
- Log into the Quicken Simplifi Web App.
- Select Profile from the left-hand navigation bar.
- With the Profile menu open, hold down the Option key for Mac or the Alt key for Windows, and then click Send Feedback.
- Leave all boxes checked, add a brief description of the issue, and then click Send.
Thank you!

@Coach Kristina "please send logs"
Done. — "report created - reference id 483125721930299136"
Now that you have the logs I am going to delete the spurious transactions.

@DryHeat, thanks for sending the logs!
Now that you've deleted the duplicate Investment Transactions, please establish a completely fresh connection with Charles Schwab and then keep an eye on things moving forward to see if the issue reoccurs.
- Make all of the accounts with this bank manual by following the steps here.
- Once you see the account(s) listed in the Manual Accounts section under Settings > Accounts, go back through the Add Account flow to reconnect to the bank.
- Carefully link the account(s) found to your existing Quicken Simplifi account(s) by following the steps here.
If the issue does pop up again, we'll need to gather a bit more data from you than just logs, so please don't delete them until we've actually escalated the issue and provided you with a ticket number.
Let us know how it goes!

I may be wrong, but it sounds like you needed the bad transactions to be in place (not deleted) in order to use the logs to examine the issue — and that it will not be examined now that they are deleted.
Assuming that is the case, I don't see any real need to go through the "fresh connection" process.
I will see if the problem recurs once "tariff paralysis" has passed and I am making transactions again. If it does I will start a new bug report for this specific issue.

@DryHeat, not exactly.
We want you to go through the troubleshooting process and establish a fresh connection with the bank to see if that resolves the problem moving forward. If doing so does not resolve the problem moving forward, we would then need you to keep the examples so we can gather data and review the case for escalation.
I hope this makes sense!

@Coach Natalie Ok, I created a fresh connection.
I had to anyway, as my connection to Schwab was coincidentally broken this morning. No problem reestablishing.

@Coach Natalie @DryHeat Sorry to come late to this discussion but I have the same problem, which I didn't discover because I don't look at the transactions much in my wife's Schwab Roth IRA.
I found a lot of duplicate transactions for March and April. They were all downloaded sometime in April. I deleted them. This morning, duplicate transactions again downloaded from Schwab for March and April.
I will send in my logs momentarily. Then I will re-establish the connection and let you know tomorrow if the duplicates return.

Update @Coach Natalie After resetting the Schwab connection, I just got duplicates for the April Sells. I have sent in two sets of logs and will take screenshots to DM you.

The duplication of transactions in my Schwab account has not reoccurred since I first reported. — neither before nor after I established a fresh connection. My account shows as connected and updated.
I wonder what the difference is between our accounts.
Mine is fairly inactive. My last trades were February 26 and the only two transactions since then were "bank interest" deposits (by Schwab); one in March and one in April. I haven't had any Sell transactions since those on February 26.
Was it only Sell transactions that duplicated? (That's what it was for me, and only the most recent ones.)

@DryHeat That must be why I am still getting them since I did have sells in April, and those are the ones still duplicating. Fidelity used to do the same thing for me, and I would just delete them and then after about a month, the duplicates would stop until I got new activity the next month.
I just check at the end of the month and since transactions in Investment accounts don't affect the account balance, I don't notice it until it gets to the end of the month.
I'll await @Coach Natalie and provide her with what she needs to escalate the issue. As bugs go, this one isn't so critical although I had about 30 duplicates the other day I had to delete. Just 6 today and I haven't deleted the 2 that came back in this morning after the connection reset. I get a dividend today but that will be a buy.

@SRC54, thanks for the screenshot!
To clarify, is it just duplicates for the sell transactions, or is the buy transaction for the same (but opposite symbol) amount erroneous as well? If the former, is there just one duplicate of each sell? That's what I'm seeing in your screenshot, so I just want to make sure we are on the same page.
We will also need:
- A screenshot of the example transactions from the bank's website.
- A screenshot of the Accounts Summary page from the bank's website that has a wide enough scope to show the full page URL. This is the landing page after signing in, and typically lists all accounts and balances. You will want to take this from a web browser and not a mobile browser, as well as redact any private info such as account numbers.
Much appreciated!

@Coach Natalie Yes, this last time, it was just the sells that got duplicated. But I believe earlier, perhaps in March, there was a duplicated buy. It seems like the duplications are just for April right now. I get dividends tomorrow, which should be correct. It would be the next day if they are duplicated. But I should only get one dividend and one buy tomorrow.

@Coach Natalie "…is there just one duplicate of each sell?"
FWIW, when I had this problem (with Sell transactions in February) there were many duplicates of each Sell transaction. 48 duplicates of each, to be exact. I ended up deleting 192 spurious transactions.

@SRC54, thank you!
I'd like to get this escalated to get it in front of our engineering team. We can wait to see what happens with your dividend and buy transactions tomorrow, or we can use the sell transactions that I can see in your screenshot. I will, however, need the additional data that I requested above, regardless.

@Coach Natalie Website screenshots sent. They don't display the account number; at least I didn't see one. It's not a big account.

@Coach Natalie I didn't get the dividend this morning, so probably tomorrow. However, my "sells" from April 21 and April 22 duplicated again!

@SRC54, thank you for providing the requested info!
I escalated the duplicate sells and will let you know when there are updates. Please let us know what happens with the dividend! Also, by duplicated again, do you mean that they were deleted and then the duplicates re-downloaded with the next connection with the bank, or do they now show 3 times each?

@Coach Natalie Yes, I will do; strange as I usually get a dividend at the end of the month but not today.
As for the sells, there was one; then yesterday they duplicated and then today they duplicated again, which makes 3 each. I assume tomorrow they will duplicate again.
Update: I just did another update and now there are 5 of them! Good grief. It seems to be downloading them again every 4 hours!

How old do your Sell transactions have to be before they quit duplicating?
My last Sell transaction was Feb 26th and it replicated many times before it quit, but I didn't notice the duplicate transactions until April 26th. It must have stopped duplicating somewhere in that two month period because the number of duplicate transactions was not increasing, but I have no idea when it stopped.
It would be interesting to know if there is some fixed period (a week?, 10 days?, a month?) after which the problem stops on its own.

Oh, I was wrong about getting a dividend on the first. I had sold that; I get one on the 15th. But today, the April sells duplicated again. LOL

@DryHeat Apparently, I spoke too soon. I now have a buy in March that duplicated 7 times. I also just deleted 14 duplicates for 2 "sells" ( 7 each) in April.

I’m also having this issue with my Schwab accounts, seems that it’s happening with all transaction types

@ben510, thanks for letting us know!
I'd love to get you added to the ticket as an additional example. To do so, we first need to ensure you've established a completely fresh connection with Charles Schwab in Quicken Simplifi and confirm that the issue continues to occur with new data after doing so. I'm going to have you gain a new access token during this process as well to see if that makes a difference.
Here are the steps for establishing a fresh connection:
- Navigate to the bank's website, sign in, and remove Quicken's access from the bank's third-party linked apps.
- Navigate back to Quicken Simplifi and make all of your accounts with this bank manual by following the steps here.
- Once you see the account(s) listed in the Manual Accounts section under Settings > Accounts, go back through the Add Account flow to reconnect to the bank and reauthorize your accounts.
- Carefully link the account(s) found to your existing Quicken Simplifi account(s) by following the steps here.
Let us know how things go!

Hi, I tried reconnecting and linked my account but the issue is persisting. I have 5 entries for a transaction that happened 3 days ago
