Ability to have the 'Manage Updates' feature reset every night at midnight (edited)

Hi,

I use the daily update feature for certain accounts that do not like it when they are updated too often (they end up eventually blocking the update requests). So, I love this new feature where you can set it to daily, monthly, etc.

However, for the daily update, it would be great if it would reset everday at midnight. Basically, when I log into Simplify in the morning each day, I want it to update. And then not update again until the following day.

As it is currently set up, it won't update for 24 hours. So if I log in at 10am today, but then 9am the following day, it won't update. I have to wait until 11am, etc.

If it reset at midnight, then each day I would get updated regardless of what time I check my accounts.

I like the idea of Simplifi updating once a day at midnight (or 3 am, or whatever). But I have a question.

I think Simplifi only updates when you are both logged in and enough time has passed since the last update. I don't think it fires up and updates its data when you are not online. See this article:

I could be wrong about that, and would be happy to have my understanding confirmed or corrected by one of the coaches.

But if that's how it works, the idea of having Simplifi update at midnight every night would require a much bigger change to Simplifi's system than seemed apparent to me at first.

Right now, if you set up an account to update once per day, it tracks what time you update it. And then that account won't update for 24 hours. So if you check it at 3pm on Monday, it won't update again until 3pm Tuesday (or possibly 3:01pm). I'm arguing that a daily update should be that at 12:01am everyday, the "counter" resets. So as soon as you log in, it updates. So if you log in at 3pm on Monday, and then 8am on Tuesday, it would update Tuesday at 8am (vs. having to wait until 3pm Tuesday).

@Matt Z This makes sense to me given that some accounts, especially those that don’t support pending transactions, would update during that bank’s nightly processing and then not change again until the next business day. I might suggest 3 AM or so though to ensure that those overnight processes are complete before the reset time, especially if time zones aren’t considered in the reset time.

I think my banks update between 4am and 6am Central. I've notice that some ACHs come in during the day. My habit has been for years to open Simplifi around 530-600.

I would like to change some of my banks to 10am (Capital One, Chase, AmEx) because they update the balance early, but not the transactions until later.
