⭐️ 1 Star – Love almost everything… but this one flaw ruins it
I genuinely like everything else about Quicken Simplifi—the design is clean, it's easy to use, syncing works well, and organizing expenses by category is simple and intuitive.
BUT the fact that you cannot set spending limits on subcategories is a massive oversight. What's the point of budgeting a broad category like “Travel and Transportation” if I can’t also set limits for Gas, Car Insurance, or Parking underneath it?
It feels like Simplifi gets me 90% of the way there, then completely drops the ball on the one thing that would make budgeting actually useful. I've organized everything into detailed subcategories, but I’m left manually tracking them outside the app. This is such a fundamental need that it turned an almost-perfect tool into something I can’t rely on.
Please fix this—it's the only reason I'm leaving.

watchlists do not allow this? If not, please create or vote on an existing idea post that addresses this, even if you leave the app you may want to come back in a year or so and if you do this there is a greater chance this will be there.

@larenl ,
I don’t understand this post. You can already create Planned Expense series in the Spending Plan at any category level you wish. Also, like @RobWilk said, you can also do this using Watchlists.
Could you maybe provide some screenshots to help us better understand?
