Santander Consumer: QCS-500

Just got a new auto loan (ugh and yay at the same time) for a new (used) car —

It's with Santander Consumer.

Like Navy FCU I'm getting the below message, but this time it happens when i try to add the account. This is NOT happening with all my accounts, just Navy FCU and Santander Consumer.

    Hello @RobWilk,

    Thanks for reaching out! Can you please confirm whether you are still receiving the QCS-500 error with Santander Consumer as well for us? I believe this may have been a temporary holdup, as you stated in your post, and we will want to make sure before diving into more troubleshooting.

    I am still receiving this error a couple days later. It happens almost instantly after I enter my username and password. Let's focus on this one rather than navy federal, as this is a 'new' account.

    There may be something wrong on my end, but I think I tried two different computers: a 1-month old M4 Pro MacBook pro and a 16 hour old DELL Desktop PC (i5).

    VPNs are off.

    I was using chrome, yesterday i switched everything to Microsoft Edge on all machines. The macbook is not on a beta OS but has the latest standard release, the Windows machine is on the Canary Insider Builds.

    I can see a Community Alert for QCS-500 errors affecting multiple financial institutions came out yesterday. It is possible that the issue you're seeing is part of that known issue.

    Are you seeing this error with Santander and Navy Federal Credit Union only, or are other financial institutions also impacted?
