I am frustrated with this product

It can't sum a column in a manual account? 15 rows, downloaded to excel and summed and your sum doesn't match. Open known issue over a month old.

I use this product for cashflow and reporting. I am not connecting it to my asset accounts at my brokerage. I do my cash management account at the brokerage manually in Simplifi.

My dashboard settings won't stay like I set them. Cashflow and reporting is all I need or want.

I read that you are considering allowing the product to make transactions in my linked accounts? I hope I can shut that off. I may be going back to desktop. If you didn't have so many relationships for connecting to transactions I'd be looking for another product.

    Hello @dmherm,

Thank you for coming to the Community to share your feedback, although I'm sorry to hear you find using Quicken Simplifi so frustrating.

For the first issue you mentioned, if you haven't already done so, I recommend that you bookmark the Community Alert linked below to be notified of updates, when available, and know when the issue is resolved:

For the issue with dashboard settings, would you please provide more information? Is this happening in the Web App, the Mobile App, or both? What specific settings are changing? What seems to trigger them to change?

I look forward to your reply!

  • It's the relative position of the panels, sometimes I login and they are where I left them and other times not.

I am using the web application (Win11 Pro and latest version of Edge). I tried using an InPrivate window but the behavior did not change.

After I made the post, the next day after login my manual account total was correct.

And I did check out several competing products after my post. Simplifi is the product I want to continue using.

That's what I noticed about manual account balances as well, specifically with transfers from linked accounts. For some bizarre reason, After I make a change, I think the manual balance 'went wrong' with one bank sync, and recovered in the next bank sync. Bank sync's tend to happen at most once every "4-6 hours", presuming you logged in or resynced after that much time.

As per turning on Account to Account transfers, I have had that feature for a while, and you specifically need to turn it on for each account you want to have it on (it does verification deposits into those account, and you have to confirm that amount deposited - of course, anyone with access to your simplifi data could see the amounts). I have almost no reason to use account to account transfers, because chase (my bank) does "real time" transfers to external accounts, and will transfer back within 2 business days— Whereas with Quicken's account to account feature, there is always at least a 2 business day process (there is a period the money is unavailable to you).

  • I will never let Simplifi transact my linked accounts. As for manual account balances, I get that the balances on my linked accounts depend upon Simplifi server to external institution server connectivity and that such interactions must be limited to prevent users creating unmanageable resource demands, but manual accounts don't involve the external connections and it is frustrating not to see a correct sum instantaneously when I can download those same rows and see the correct value in Excel. All of my balances are set to actual and don't include pending transactions.

@dmherm You may want to upvote this feature request to allow manual update of balances on manual accounts.
