Shouldn't "Spaces" and "Sharing" be separate features?
I want to set up a separate space to assist/track my Mom's financial accounts, but she doesn't need access to view it….
However creating a "Space" for this appears to be blocked as I am using the one allotted sharing account with my Wife. Seems like creating 1-3 additional spaces (without sharing) should be allowed even if I'm sharing my primary space on the standard plan.
Seems odd to have to buy the Business Plan with all the business features for my personal accounts.
Am I misunderstanding something?
UPDATE: I just discovered that Sharing apparently isn't the limiting factor for Simplifi Basic, as it isn't even a feature. (so much for the grayed out "add space" button). (edited to add link)
Quicken should probably update their docs on the difference in feature versions to include spaces.

Hello @Stu B,
Thanks for reaching out! I am not sure what you mean by Space Sharing not being a feature for Quicken Simplifi, but with Space Sharing, you can share full access to your data with one additional member with just an invite, without having to share your login credentials. All the other individual needs to do is create a Quicken ID, which can be done for free, and accept your invite! Once the member accepts the invitation, they'll be able to sign in to Quicken Simplifi using their Quicken ID and password and view the Space being shared. More information about Space Sharing can be found in our support article here:
I see that you've already voted for the idea post you shared about having multiple spaces. That's a great suggestion! If you follow the post, we'll keep you updated with any new information in the future.

- You cannot create an additional "Space" with Simplifi "basic".
- You can only share your single "Space" with simplifi "basic".
Therefore if you want to create an additional space (even if just for your own use) it cannot be done with simplfi "basic". If you have to upgrade to the "business" version.
What I'm trying to say is "Spaces" and "Sharing" are different concepts.

Hello @Stu B,
Thanks for the reply and feedback. You're correct in that if you did want more than one space, then you would have to upgrade to Quicken Business & Personal. The idea post you shared would change that if implemented, so I would definitely keep an eye out for updates regarding that idea in the meantime.

And to clarify….
If I did upgrade to "business and personal", would I be able to do both of the below:
1) Share my primary 'Space' with my wife.
2) Create a second Space for my Mom's accounts (that doesn't need to be shared with anyone)
Seems I saw posts saying you can't Share your existing space with someone and create a new Space even with the Business product. (which is why I originally started this thread).
Thanks.0 -
Just my two cents, but if you just want to have an account for your mom, I would just buy her a subscription and share it with yourself. It sounds like you don't really need the business accounts.
But whatever works for you is what matters.
And For what it's worth, I agree that spaces and sharing are separate things. 😀
