Help! New HOA Treasurer, trying to restore QDF file to online..?
Hi,
I have taken over as treasurer for our HOA. Personally, I use Quickbooks for my home based business, but the prior HOA treasurers used Quicken, so I figured I would also. Rather than get a personal account I wouldn't use again, I figured I should do the Quicken online business/ personal account, that way any new Treasurer will always have access.
Unfortunately it is appearing that I can't just restore a QDF into the online Simplifi software, so now I am at a loss of what to do next. In my online account, it had the Quicken sw, so I downloaded it, thinking I could restore it there and then some how sync online (?) but it is asking for an activation key which isn't in my email order confirmation.
I guess I will have to call tech support, but they aren't open til tomorrow, and figured someone here might have some suggestions (or at least some encouragement,as I'm beginning to feel I made a grave error.)
Thanks in advance!!
Kim

It sounds like you are trying to use a Simplifi subscription to import a Quicken Classic data file. Simplifi and Quicken Classic are not compatible products and you will not be able to import one to the other.

Hello @HOA Treas,
As @RickS said, Quicken Simplifi is not able to import Quicken Classic data. They are separate products and there is no tool for easy transfer of data between them. If this is functionality you'd like to see added in the future, please add your vote and a comment to the Idea post linked below:
It is possible to manually import data using a CSV file, but it will need to be properly formatted, which may be a lot of work. For more information, please see this article:
I hope this helps!
