1: Why can't I attach a PDF file?

2. Why can't I download or export a attached file? I can only view it…

Well, Simplifi is getting better at this. You can attach a PDF file to a transaction. Several of the reports now allow you to export to PDF. There aren't a lot of options, and I think more are coming.

I just opened an attached PDF in one of my transactions and shared it to myself. I opened it on my Mac, and then I can share it (export it).

What specifically are you trying to export?

I'm not sure why this isn't working for you. Here's how I do these things:

I attach PDF files all the time (on a Windows 11 PC). You should be able to just drag and drop the file into the Attachments field on the Transaction detail form.

I can download attached PDFs filed by opening them (by clicking on the file in the Attachments field) and clicking on the download icon in the toolbar of the window where the PDF opened up.

If that's not working then maybe one of the coaches can help diagnose the problem.

Did you figure this out? @schwoeg1?

  • I'm mainly using my android tablet and phone using the app when I use Simplifi not using a web browser. The app doesn't have the capability to upload a PDF file only pictures or screenshots that I can see. Also on the app I can only view the upload attachment not able to download or export it , no options on the screen.

So what you folks are telling me I should be using a web browser for Simplifi over using the app for all of the features.

In my opinion the app developers need to do more fine tuning!

Thanks for the follow-up. I confirmed that on the iPhone app I cannot export an attached PDF. I might be able to find a way to upload one but it does take me to my photo collections or camera. I guess the design is for you to take a picture with the camera and attach it.

You are correct that the apps are not designed to have every feature, but they do have most of them. So yes, I would try to do more on the PC or Mac. Of course, I know many young people these days just use the phone and the iPad and Android pads.

You can also peruse the feature requests or create one of your own.

    Good luck!

    @schwoeg1?

Sorry for the confused advice. I use Simplifi through the Progressive Web App (really just a stripped down browser window). But I should have realized you meant the Android or IOS app.

  • Thanks for the advice..

It's up to Quicken now. We will see how long this takes!
