Splitting Transactions between 2 companies and personal via rules? (edited)

Hello

Is it possible to make a rule that will take a transaction and split it between my two home businesses and personal expense based on percentages? For examples lets say my mortgage was:

Expense: $1000.00

Personal Expense: 65%

Business 1 Expense: 20%

Business 2 Expense: 15%

That would save me so much time. Is this an option or can it be put to the development team?

    I don't think you can do this with a rule.

    But have you tried setting up a recurring transaction series that splits the expense transaction 3 ways?

    That might almost do what you want. There are a couple of problems, though:

    1. If you have QBP, you will have to wait a little while for recurring splits to be enabled. Probably no more than a week or two, but no one is sure.
    2. You will have to split it by amount, not by percentage. There is a request in for percentage splits but I don't think it is actually in the works yet.

    And #3 which is not necessarily a problem, but you'll need to turn on Early Access if you haven't yet. Just for now, anyways.
