QBP: Ability to turn off the "Business setup" prompt (edited)

I utilize Simplifi's space sharing feature to maintain the finances for my mom. She has a separate paid account from me. I have a Simplifi QBP account. I've already set up the business information for my account. However, when I switch to my mom's space, I get this prompt.

Problems:

  1. This unnecessary box takes up half the screen on my tiny phone.
  2. She doesn't need QBP.
  3. She isn't paying for QBP and I could potentially bilk Simplifi by using my one QBP account for multiple other people who I happen to be sharing spaces with. Don't worry, I won't. On the other hand, I am slightly curious if I could. But I won't.

Let me know if you need me to test anything from my end.

@Flopbot, thanks for posting your suggestion to the Community!

I went ahead and turned this into a QBP Idea post and moved it to the applicable area of the Community so other users can vote on it and our product team can review it. As a reminder, nothing new should be posted in the beta area, as QBP is no longer in beta. That's why this got missed. 😅

    Thank you!

    @Coach Natalie ,

I must have posted it here by mistake. Thanks for moving it. Should that one just go away or get moved to the property Category location to (A) keep the community neat and tidy and (B) limit confusion?

@Flopbot, only beta users have access to the beta forum, so not every Community member can see that section. The powers that be didn't want to turn the beta section into a main section, so we just set up new sections for QBP. I did make it to where new Discussions can no longer be posted in the beta section, so that should help. Feel free to keep adding comments on any existing beta posts, though! The QBP team is still monitoring those.

    Thanks!

    I'm in the same boat.
Bought the Business package just for the spaces feature.

"Business Setup" is unnecessary for me and seems like it would be an easy widget to remove via the "Customize" option.

Of course the better option was just to offer "spaces" in the normal simplifi package…but that's a longer goal.

same here - not interested in business features, just the Spaces features, which is great. Give the business setup an on/off toggle, or charge incrementally for Simplifi for additional spaces. I had to create a dummy business just to get rid of the large business tab at the top of the screen.

In the most recent release notes, Simplifi announced this…

    Mobile Releases 6.16.0 & 6.16.1

    • UPDATEDQBP: Prevent users from using business categories when no business has been added.

While it’s not what I want, it’s one step closer. If no business has been added to a space, Simplifi should just hide the categories altogether instead of blocking us from using them while still being able to see them. Seems kinda pointless. This should be based on the space. For example, I have four spaces set up, two ONLY Business and two ONLY Personal. Hiding the business this way should occur by default. To make it truly complete, it would also want the reverse to happen. Offer a setting to turn off Personal if Business is set up in a space. This shouldn’t be default since some people might want their business and personal combined.

This automatic suppression of business categories would be even more useful if we had the ability to delete a business in a particular space. I created one as a test and then discovered I can't get rid of it, which makes this new feature inapplicable.

And your suggestion of being able to turn off the personal categories would also help. I have a Space with only a business and the personal categories just get in the way.
