I spend a good part of my summer in Canada (when things go well, anyway). So during the year I contribute every month to a Savings Goal that earmarks money for Canada expenses.
Then, when summer comes and I head north, I draw down that Savings Goal and transfer the money to my Canadian bank account. Over the following 12 months, I use that money to pay expenses related to my life in Canada.

We don't have a summer vacation per se, but we do take a trip or two every year.
We just got back from Gulf Shores (Alabama coast) where my team plays a senior tennis tournament every year. I put the lodging cost of this trip in the Spending Plan, and I am usually able to absorb the cost fairly easily. We eat 2-3 meals out, which I treat as regular restaurant expense. One of the team members stays in the condo with us so his part helps defray our cost.
My wife's trips are for her service clubs, and she has 3-4 per year usually in Alabama or a neighboring state, and those costs (if overnight) are also in the Spending Plan.
She also had a national trip to Colorado this summer that would have been partially paid for, but she decided not to go (various reasons). I will plan for her 2027 trip in the August 2027 Spending Plan. That reminds me I need to ask where they are going.
Generally it is too darn hot to travel in the summer in Alabama but the Fall and Spring (when dodging tornadoes) are nice. I may make a quick trip to North Alabama to visit a college buddy but that won't cost but gasoline.
BTW, we shocked ourselves and won the tournament. One ailing team member had to drop out so the one I had recruited to "replace" me had to replace him. I ended up playing more than expected, and we won anyhow. That was just icing on the cake. The trip is more an excuse to hang out and eat seafood.
