Add a 'Tax Related' Filter Option (edited)

The Tax Report is a great start. However, it lacks the flexibility that I need as there is no way to customize the report. It would be great to be able to filter the categories that were defined as Tax Related (perhaps in the Advanced Filter option). If this were possible, then Tax Related transactions could be downloaded into a spreadsheet, then formatted using a crosstab (like the old days)

    I have gone ahead and turned this into an Idea post requesting that 'Tax Related' Filters be added to the Taxes Report so other users can vote on it and our product team can review it.

    Please add a feature that will allow filtering Transactions by categories that are indicated as "Tax Related" (and assigned to a tax form). (NOT a Tag). This could be an option under "Advanced Filters"

    Not saying I am against this, but why? You have the tax reports that already give you the Tax Related transactions/totals.

    Could you provide more information as to why you want this? Maybe I'm just dense. 😀

    It's been awhile since this post. I think what I was after was a way to include in the "Tax" report transactional information that was tax related but could not be associated with a tax form. This is because Simplifi does not provide a complete list of tax forms for ALL types of tax related data.

    Ah. Maybe they will add more but in the meantime, I suppose you could use a tag "Tax Related" or maybe even use categories, and make a custom report that includes just the tax categories you want.

    I don't like the tax report because even after I collapse the transactions, the PDF or print out will show them all so I made a Special Income and Expense Report that only shows taxable income and tax related transactions. Then I can choose summary and save it.

    I'm very happy with it. Here it is YTD with the income and tithes crossed out. I left in Healthcare. We all know how expensive that is. LOL

    I ended up with a similar solution. I reorganized my tax related categories as sub categories under "Tax Related Expenses" and "Tax Related Income", then created income and expense reports. The pre-baked Tax Report just isn't working for me.
