Convert Reminders to a Transaction on the day they occur [edited] (1 Merged Vote)

Yup, I already voted for that one too :D Thanks for posting it!
While I hear and agree, it is disheartening to watch new idea posts get merged with old and neglected ones, over and over. Hopefully the accumulated votes will actually make a difference at some point!

I agree that we should be able to enter a reminder easily as a transaction, and I agree that it would be nice if we had the option to make it automatic if we choose. This would be very helpful for manual accounts since more and more of us have those and there are no downloads for Simplifi to match with a recurring reminder.
We also need the ability to add splits to Reminders since many reminders are split, especially the income ones such as paychecks. Without that Reminders will still be broken.

Bringing this up to the top. Would be helpful for an asset cash account like a car to have a recurring monthly depreciation transaction.

With time, I've come to realize I do not want this feature. While I do want the ability to convert a reminder to a transaction, I don't want anything entered automatically from reminders. I may schedule things that don't have definitive dates, and i'd rather have them move forward as a 'past due' reminder, than a transaction. Reminders are to remind me to make payments, and if it's auto entered, I will never remember. Also, what about the case where a reminder is income, and it gets auto-entered but is not actually in the account for some reason -it could cause me to spend money i don't have.
In short, I think I am now the first no vote for this idea.

@RobWilk This feature is an option in Quicken desktop and I would assume that if implemented here, it would also be an option per transaction reminder as to if it should be automatically entered. If true, you could disable this option as you do not wish to use it. I think for many, we want them automatically entered as the payment itself is set up to automatically withdraw from the account. If the payment is a manual payment then I would not select that option, as you mention, because I don't know the exact day I will pay it.

@egal Yes, I think you are correct, that if this idea gets implemented, that you could specify whether to enter it manually or automatically with each reminder. I find in Quicken Classic that there aren't too many reminders that I do automatically because the due dates change and so do the amounts. It works fairly well for some income and subscriptions. Otherwise, I do it myself.
Users need to be able to turn a reminder into a transaction, especially for manual accounts and we also need splits in reminders.
Also, there is another idea, slightly more basic that has a lot more votes. I think if either of these got implemented, they would include both manual and automatic. Vote for it as well, if you haven't already.

I would definitely use "Ability to create a transaction from a Reminder" on a regular basis. Already voted for it :)

Hi, I have an HSA through a small financial institution that I am not able to link. I contribute a regular amount to this account every paycheck so I know exactly how much each deposit will be but I am not able to automatically post those transactions without manually entering in the details which gets a bit tedious. I would like to be able to automatically post transactions to an account on a regular basis, that way when I get paid the account balance automatically matches what’s in Simplifi.
Thanks!

Hi there. If I am understanding you, I think you have a manual account and you would like the Reminder to be entered as a transaction automatically on the date you have it set for. Is that right?
If I am right, we already have a feature request to do that: [removed link to merged thread]
And here's another feature request for users to be able to convert a reminder into a transaction themselves:
Consider voting for both. Thanks!
