Buy/Sell Investment Transactions don't update Holdings

I don't understand why Buy/Sell Investment Transactions don't update my Holdings data. I've read in some posts here that Investment Transactions are designed to be "behind the scenes" - can someone please explain the value of that? If I enter a Buy transaction for a stock in a brokerage account, I have to then enter it again as a new Holding for that same account, and I fail to see how duplicate entry is ever a good thing…

Thanks for reaching out! The Investments section including the Portfolio is indeed separate from the Investment Transactions themselves. We do this to allow users to manage and track their individual investment transactions without impacting their actual Portfolio Value.
