importing data from Quicken Classic Deluxe

Hello. Is it possible to export my data from Quicken Classic Deluxe into a .QIF file, convert that to a .CSV file, and then import that .CSV file into Simplifi? Is there anything I need to do to the .CSV file to import properly into Simplifi?

That's a good question, and I'm curious to see the answer. It's too late for me (my Quicken Classic file is years out of date), but I would've loved to have a way to pull in that data when I had it. Just the transactions would've been nice, and I know it wouldn't have affected balances.

Does your version of Quicken Classic give you a *.csv option? If so, do that then download the Quick Simplifi .csv template and populate it with the required data then follow the import process for the account you are importing to.

There are several 3rd party conversion apps. Do a web search for them. Pick one and follow that apps instructions to convert file. Then download the QS template and populate.it with the required data then follow the import process for the account you are importing to.

Just curious but why do you want/need to import however many years of old banking data to QS?

    Hello @trtrlik,

Thanks for reaching out! While Quicken Simplifi and Quicken Classic are all under the same umbrella, we currently do not support cross-platform connections. Quicken Simplifi cannot read your Quicken data or vice versa, since Quicken Simplifi is an entirely separate product and exclusively online.

You can, however, manually import transactions, using a CSV file. For more information on how you can manually import your transactions, click here!

It has been obvious for a while that Quicken doesn't want to make it easy for users to go from one app to another. It is disappointing, but that is what it is. [removed - speculation/disruptive].

I launched Quicken Classic Deluxe just now. Went to my checking account page. Clicked on the gear icon upper right of screen in the title bar. Among the choices available in this menu is "Export to Excel Workbook (.xlsx)". Select this option then name and save the file to wherever you save such a file that you can remember. The file will be saved and Quicken will open a window confirming the save and giving you the option to "Open" or "Show in Folder."

It's easy enough from this point to simply open the file in Excel and copy and paste the data needed into the Simplifi provided .csv template for import into Simplifi. I haven't tried, but I believe you can open .xlsx files in Goole sheets.

A couple of steps but not overly burdensome it seems to me.
