Provide Option to Disable "Smart" Features
I keep running into issues with the “smart” features of Simplifi. Recently I’ve been fighting the fact that the automatic payee renaming wants to remove the first word from the statement name, so "Electronic Arts" becomes "Arts" and "Prime Video" becomes "Video," and I have to go into each payment just to figure out who it’s actually from. On top of that, I'm having to add rules just to force something that looks like the original statement name. Another recent instance is that a payment to a university got renamed to “Southwestern Airlines” and automatically got categorized as “Travel.” (While I’m griping about these “smart” features, I should note that I stopped categorizing things as recurring expenses/bills near the beginning of the year because of how regularly the wrong payments were assumed to be the next charge in a series.)
Please provide a way to turn off these horribly performing “smart” feature. I can create rules where I need them, which I know will be correct. The user experience around these features is so horrible and such a counterproductive time sink that it’s making me consider canceling my Simplifi membership.

@User20230826, thanks for posting to the Community!
I went ahead and moved this out of Feature Requests, as the behavior you described is a known issue rather than a feature. Our Community Alert can be followed for updates on this known issue:
Otherwise, we do have this existing request for the ability to revert to the downloaded payee name rather than having Quicken Simplifi apply its logic that you can vote for and follow for updates:

I hope this helps!

@Coach Natalie — thank you for pointing these out!
The first one isn't the issue I'm having, as the correct, full payee name is available when I go into the transaction info. Is there a known issue associated with Simplifi's logic oversimplifying the payee name to something less than useful or just plain wrong?
The two features, though, could solve my main problem. (Until they're added, though, I have no idea whether either would address categorization issues.) It's super disappointing to see that the first one—which is more in line with what I'm asking for—has been open for more than 4 years. (I have upvoted them both, though… fingers crossed.)

@User20230826, thanks for the reply!
The issue you described of: "Electronic Arts" becomes "Arts" and "Prime Video" becomes "Video" is the known issue that the Alert was for. The issue has now been resolved, so this should no longer be occurring. Quicken Simplifi is not designed to oversimplify payee names as you described.
I hope this helps clarify!
