Chase Bank Balance WAY WRONG (edited)

Situation: Simplifi is showing a -$1k balance when I have positive $3k in the bank.

What is wrong with the balance? It worked fine for a week and now it's crazy off. Not just like a little bit. It says I have a negative $1,886 bank balance but the balance shown in the bank is $3k!

As far as I understood the bank balance should be exactly what is reported when I log onto my bank.

I'm using Chase bank. Do they do something weird that is causing Simplifi not to work?

Feel frree (IMHO) to answer @Coach Natalie 's questions there if you want to get added to the ticket, but you may or may not be comfortable answering things publicly like i did.

  • Thank you! I was pulling my hair out thinking I did something wrong because I am horrible at financial stuff.

I am having the same issue as the OP and am going to switch to [removed] if this does not get resolved soon. I can't go resetting my Chase banking every other day to get a proper balance.

A little bit off I can deal with, but right now Simplifi says I have -$1,881 bank balance (not pending balance) when the actual bank balance upon logging into Chase is $3,117.

Know that they split off your comment on that thread, because it seems that the engineering team wants to keep each report separate to make it easier to track/follow (or so I was told elsewhere). I probably shouldn't have referred you to that thread, my bad.

@NanP1017, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

The first thing we'll want to do to troubleshoot any balance issues is to establish a completely fresh connection with the bank, as well as gain a new access token since Chase is one of our OAuth API banks. You may do so by following these steps:

    1. Navigate to the bank's website, sign in, and remove Quicken's access from the bank's third-party linked apps.
    2. Navigate back to Quicken Simplifi and make all of your accounts with this bank manual by following the steps here.
    3. Once you see the account(s) listed in the Manual Accounts section under Settings > Accounts, go back through the Add Account flow to reconnect to the bank and reauthorize your accounts.
    4. Carefully link the account(s) found to your existing Quicken Simplifi account(s) by following the steps here.

Once done, please keep an eye on things moving forward and let us know if the issue pops up for you.

We look forward to your reply!
