Many, but not all, transactions in 2024 for one credit card have reverted to “pending”

Some time within the last few hours, many of the cleared transactions for one of my cards have reverted to pending status. These are transactions that have been cleared for a long time, in some cases. For example, I suddenly have a pending transaction from January 18th, 2024.

I think I can modify the transactions to cleared myself, but I’m disinclined to do that until I understand what happened, why, and whether I’m causing further harm somehow by modifying these transactions

    How many did you get? Are you sure the cleared transaction isn't there too? I assume these now pending transactions have thrown off your balance.

    It's your data so you cannot do harm by fixing it. The only reason to keep it or take gifs would be to provide evidence. But if this is just a one time thing, then it's a just glitch. However, if it continues, then that's another thing.

  • I’m having the exact problem. The cleared and pending transactions are both there. It throws off the balance in the account list. I disconnected and reconnected the account and it made no difference. It’s obviously a system problem. I hope they read these comments.

    @413sport, what card and bank did your issue occur with? Mine was the Amtrak Guest Rewards Mastercard card from FNBO. I ended up solving my issue by deleting the pending transactions, then selecting "Reset connection" on the bank from the Settings → Accounts menu.

  • Same account, FNBO. I deleted all of the pending duplicates as you suggested and it corrected the balance in the account list. I think I'll wait and see what happens over the next couple of days before I reset the connection. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • I am having this issue with my FNBO FordPass Visa card. Very old transactions now appear as pending, and have done so for about a week. I reset the connection and they are still there. Is manually deleting all of these transactions the only way to fix this?

    1. The name of the account, as it appears in Quicken Simplifi
    2. The name of the account, as it appears on the financial institution website
    3. A screenshot of the pending transactions that are inappropriately downloading into your Quicken Simplifi.
      1. Please redact any personal information from the screenshot.
    4. A screenshot of the financial institution website showing that those transactions are posted to the account. Please make sure the screenshot also displays the URL of the website.
