Why can't I select transactions for specific dates?

I'm trying to prepare taxes and find it frustrating not to be able to filter transactions for 2024. I see lots of people complaining about this need but no solutions.

Hi. You have to do it in Reports rather than from the Register. You should be able to choose This Year, then choose what categories you want to see. You'll have to do one for Expenses and then another one for Income.

I do wish they would add a Tax Report, but of course we would still have to choose the tax categories, wages, dividends, interest, medical, taxes, etc.
