Wells Fargo recognizes direct deposits 2 banking days earlier than the posting of them
I cannot get Simplifi to mirror my Wells Fargo account for my three monthly direct deposits. Wells Fargo includes direct deposits in my available balance two banking days prior to the actual posting of the deposit. I absolutely NEED those amounts included in my available balance prior to the posting so that the planning graph at the top of the page is reflective of what's going on at Wells Fargo. I have to know if funds will be available to cover payments being made, and the date is critical to that planning. Simplifi will not recognize the deposit in the available balance until the actual date of posting. Furthermore, the reminder I have created, in order that my planning graph is accurate, disappears from the reminders when the bank allows the deposit in my available balance, but does not show the deposit in Pending, as it is shown on Wells Fargo, and does not include the amount in the balance. The deposit is continued to be included on the planning graph, however, but on the date it will post and not the date I can use the funds. I have absolutely no way to force Simplifi to use the available date rather than the posting date. Therefore, I enter the deposit, again, on the day it becomes available so that the balance on Simplifi matches Wells Fargo. At that point, the planning graph includes both of the deposits, one on the available date and one on the posting date, and now my graph is useless for planning purposes because it has doubled the deposit. Show the deposit as PENDING on the date it becomes available so that it is included in my balance for planning purposes. Then move it to POSTED when the bank actually posts it. PLEASE!

Hello @mllcpa,
To assist with this issue, please provide more information. Is your account list in Quicken Simplifi set to display the balance with pending? You can check this in the web app by clicking the 3 dots to the right of the account list.
When the income reminder vanishes from the reminders section, are you still able to see it under Bills & Payments, All Recurring? Do you see the green dot for that reminder showing on the calendar? Is the reminder set up to reflect the 2 days early that the funds are available, or to reflect the posting date? Do you have this issue with any other pending deposits or charges?
I look forward to your reply!

- Yes, my Accounts in Simplifi are set to display the balance with Pending. If the transaction would just appear in Pending, I know it would be included in the balance and would match the bank. Not too long ago, maybe just a few short months, two banking days before the direct deposit would be posted by Wells Fargo but it was still available to me to use, I would see the Simplifi reminder drop into the Pending section and be included in the balance. Then when I updated my Simplifi accounts, the pending deposit at Wells Fargo would show up again on Simplifi so that now there would be two of them, the one from the reminder and the one Simplifi just picked up in the update. I would go to the three dots to the right of the extra deposit and choose the link to an existing transaction option, and then it would disappear and only one deposit would show in Pending until the deposit posted. But a few months ago, Simplifi just stopped putting the available deposit in Pending, where Wells Fargo has it, and did the thing where the reminder disappeared but remained in the planning graph but did not show in Pending.
- On the Dashboard, I can see the deposit appearing under Bills & Payments but in Settings, there is no income showing under All Recurring, probably because December was the last in the series I set up for 2024.
- When I click on See all Bills & Payments at the bottom of the Bills & Payments section on the Dashboard, I can see the calendar and there is a green dot showing for the date the deposit will actually post to my account at Wells Fargo, even though it is available to me before that date.
- When I set up the recurring income, I set it to use the available date and not the posting date. If the reminder got the date wrong, I corrected the date and that seemed to work well with the deposit dropping in to Pending on the available date. Up until a few months ago. Now Simplifi seems to read what the bank shows as the date it will post the deposit but ignores that Wells Fargo has that deposit listed as Pending and available to me.
- I only have this problem on Simplifi with all three of my direct deposits at Wells Fargo, but I don't have checking or savings accounts at any other bank. My other bank accounts are credit card only.

Thank you for your reply,
To troubleshoot this issue, I recommend resetting the problem accounts by following the instructions below:
- Make the account(s) manual by following the steps here.
- Go back through the Add Account flow to connect to Wells Fargo and authorize your accounts.
- Carefully link the accounts found to your existing Quicken Simplifi accounts by following the steps here.
Please let me know how it goes!

Yes, I have many times changed my accounts to manual and then re-added them and linked the now automatic accounts to the manual ones. I did it again just now and it showed the deposit that Wells Fargo made available to me on Friday as being dated tomorrow. I changed the reminder to today's date and hit the Refresh button to have it update on Simplifi, but nothing changed. I deleted the reminder, since I had already manually added the deposit in order to make my Wells Fargo account on Simplifi match my Wells Fargo account at the bank, because it was adding it in YET AGAIN to the planning graph (that makes 3 times). Once I deleted the reminder, the planning graph went back to counting the deposit twice: once for the one I manually added to reflect the correct balance, and once for the recurring deposit I set up and that still shows on the Dashboard. I deleted the transaction on the Dashboard, and now my Simplifi record matches my Wells Fargo record, but only because I manually added the deposit when Wells Fargo said I could use the funds. I cannot set up recurring income on Simplifi for Wells Fargo because Simplifi will always use the date that Wells Fargo shows for when WF will post the deposit and not the date for when WF makes the deposit available to me, which is two banking days earlier. What this means for me is that I have to manually add a deposit using the availability date so that my planning graph will be useful, and then when we get to the availability date, I will have to delete the reminder, and take it off the Bills & Payment section of the Dashboard should it still show there, and then manually add in the deposit using the availability date because Simplifi will use the Wells Fargo posting date as the only date it recognizes and not the availability date that Wells Fargo allows.

Hello @mllcpa,
Thanks for the reply! I think there may be some confusion here with how balances and recurring transactions work in Quicken Simplifi. The program is designed to count pending transactions toward your balance; this includes manually entered pending transactions with the current or a prior date, as well as downloaded pending transactions. This allows users to get a better idea of how much money they have in their bank accounts, as banks typically provide a balance that does not include pending transactions.
This support article goes over in more detail on how balances are calculated in Quicken Simplifi, as well as how to resolve common balance discrepancies involving pending transactions:
Specifically, I would suggest turning off the Balance with Pending setting so that even though the transaction is pending it will not be counted toward the balance of the account. As for recurring transactions, when you download transactions, Quicken Simplifi searches for matches to your recurring items, and it is designed to match transactions within a certain variance. The recurring reminders themselves are not counted until they are linked to a real transaction that has been downloaded or entered in the account register. This support article goes over this and how to manage recurring transactions:
As for the topic of this thread, can you also let us know why you are changing the date of the recurring reminder? Generally, you should be able to match a downloaded transaction to a reminder without deleting/editing it. The article goes over how to do this as well. Are you manually entering the transaction itself and then it disappears from the register after being linked?
Thank you,
Coach Jon
